“CSC is one of the great traditions of Boston,” said Linda Pizzuti Henry. “We are thrilled to support an institution that has enlivened the parks and the city for fifteen years. CSC is a gift to the City of Boston; it introduces new audiences to live theater and Shakespeare, and best of all, it’s free and open to everyone.”
Commonwealth Shakespeare Company is Boston’s annual producer of Shakespeare on the Common. CSC performances have been seen by over half a million people since the company’s founding in 1996. In addition to the annual Boston Common production, CSC offers a summer “Tour of the Parks,” with a Shakespeare-inspired program designed for families as well as other Shakespeare-related programming throughout the year.
