Boston Actors Theater concludes its 6th season with a collection of five original one-act plays by local artists. Founded in 2004, Boston Actors Theater has established itself as a home for Boston-area actors, writers and directors. The company has received critical acclaim for its original full length productions Where Moments Hung Before and Hence These Tears, as well as its established productions, The Altruists; Sex Drugs and Rock and Roll; Metamorphoses and Criminal Hearts.
This year’s Summer Play Festival brings to a close a season that has focused on the complex emotional and oftentimes comedic role sexual identity plays in our lives; and bridges the gap to a new season that explores the impact of faith and religion on that identity.
Often witty, always heartfelt, each of the five plays this year continues Boston Actors Theater’s mission of supporting local artists, authors and talent. Featuring work by Max Mondi (The Thing About Pants), Bill Mootos (Abstinence Makes the Heart Grow Fonder), Sarah Moon (Turtles), Christopher L. King (The Least of These), and Saphira Linden & Susan Nisenbaum (Motherblood), The Summer Play Festival 2010 showcases new faces and creative pieces.
Directed by Julia Specht, Jennifer Reagan, Melanie Garber, Emelia Allen, and Josephine d’Angelo; Boston Actors Theater’s Summer Play Festival 2010 runs June 25th-27th at Boston Playwrights Theatre. For More information please visit www.bostonactorstheater.com .
