A.S.P. Announces their Seventh Season: Betrayal, Redemption, and the Power of the Heart

Actors’ Shakespeare Project is pleased to announce the 2010 – 2011 Season. This will be the seventh season for the itinerant Shakespeare troupe based in Somerville, MA.

The seventh season will bring you a whole new approach from A.S.P. In the fall, we’ll begin with Henry IV Parts I & II, in repertory, complete with fights, family dynamics, and loads of comedy. This production will feature many of the Resident Company Members of A.S.P. that you have grown to love. The winter season doesn’t let up one bit. Instead we ramp it up with our Winter Festival – three plays in quick succession. The festival will begin with the romance Cymbeline, and include two plays by local playwrights Jon Lipsky and John Kuntz, Living in Exile and The Hotel Nepenthe, respectively. Rounding out the season in high fashion will be the fabulous and heart-rending Antony and Cleopatra. Kings, warriors, and cutthroats, all in your lap in our unusual and intimate settings, with a larger company, and surprises around town throughout the year.

To support the renewed energy of the company, Artistic Director Allyn Burrows will be including projects that bring a revitalized commitment to Shakespeare’s language and storytelling. Burrows is adding both text and vocal coaches to every production team and has collaborated with the Resident Acting Company to formulate the season. More directors will be chosen from within the membership, and the company will continue to seek out intriguing performance venues.
