What is your definition of misery?
Being forced to do one thing when my heart is some place else.

What is your greatest fear?
Not accomplishing my life goals.

What was your first “real” job working in theatre?
I played Montano in a production of Othello.

Are you a good at waiting tables?
I couldn’t tell ya. I’ve never done it.

Which historical figure do you most identify with?
Malcolm X (post Mecca)

Who are your favorite heroes of theatre?
Anybody whose sacrifice and work ethic has led to success

Who are your favorite heroes in real life?
Anybody who beats the odds.

What do you consider the most overrated virtue?
Pride

What do you consider the most underrated virtue?
Kindness

Your favorite painter?
Salvador Dali

Your favorite musician?
Stevie Wonder

Your favorite playwright?
Don’t have one.

When and where were you happiest?
There are two answers: Right now, and any weekend when I was in college.

What do you most value in colleagues?
Intelligence, work ethic, and respect

Is there a class in which you wish you had paid more attention?
Pretty much anything in high school.

If you didn’t work in theatre, what would you do?
Study law I think.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Getting cast as Othello at 27 is pretty high on the list

What you’d like to be the world’s best at?
Peace maker

What book would you read more than once?
The Art of War by Sun Tzu

Who would play you in a movie of your life?
Me

Why?
Because I embody that role better than anyone

What sports teams do you follow?
Celtics all day!

Where would you like to spend a vacation?
Somewhere in Africa

What car would you like to be seen driving around in?
A hybrid Bentley coop (I don’t think they exist, but it’d be nice)

What book is currently on your nightstand?
Othello

If you could see a great production of a classic play, what would it be?
The Colored Museum

If you could travel back in time to visit or live in any time in history, when would it be?
I’d like to visit ancient Egypt

What actor will see in any project they do?
Denzel Washington
