Lyric Stage announces Donald Margulies’ ‘Shipwrecked!’

Following the four most successful and highest-attended seasons in its 35-year history, The Lyric Stage Company of Boston announces the third production of the 2009-2010 Season: Donald Margulies’ adventure tale, Shipwrecked! An Entertainment – The Amazing Adventures of Louis De Rougemont (as told by himself). Directed by Scott LaFeber, Shipwrecked! runs November 27 through December 20, 2009 at The Lyric Stage Company with both afternoon and evening performances.

At sixteen, Louis de Rougemont leaves his sickbed and London home, vowing to see the world. As he climbs aboard a ship of pearl divers, a typhoon hits, leaving him stranded on an island. Thirty years later, hailed as a hero, he returns to Victorian London with a tale so amazing it’s hard to believe it is true. Filled with theatrical magic and “good old fashioned yarn spinning”, (The New York Times), audiences young and old will enjoy this magical story of exotic lands, extraordinary creatures, and incredible adventures.

The Lyric’s production of Shipwrecked! features a talented cast including Allyn Burrows, Angie Jepson, and Daniel Berger-Jones.

The Shipwrecked! creative team, led by director Scott LaFeber, includes Matthew Whiton (scenic designer), Mallory Frers (costume designer), and Shawn Boyle (lighting designer).

The production begins performances on November 27 and runs through December 20, 2009.
