Anne of Green Gables Opens at Peterborough Players

The Peterborough Players Second Company presents Anne of Green Gables, opening Saturday, August 22 at 2 p.m. This beloved children’s classic, dramatized by Joseph Robinette from the book by L. M. Montgomery, includes traditional and popular music of the period, arranged by Ellen Mandel.

Gus Kaikkonen directs the Second Company, a stellar group of interns and apprentices, who bring the story of this spunky redhead to life. Set on Prince Edward Island in the early 1900s, Anne of Green Gables captures the imagination of the young and the young at heart alike. Anne, an independent, spirited girl changes the lives and touches the hearts of all who come to know and love her.
