The Peterborough Players professional theatre presents The Breath of Life, a drama by David Hare, starring Players’ favorite Dale Hodges and Tony nominee Laurie Kennedy. This morality tale tells the story of two women in their 60s whose lives are interwoven in ways they come to understand over the course of an unexpected visit.
At times funny and frequently moving, the play raises profound questions about how we deal with the past and move forward into the future. Hare writes: “You can no longer call it middle age, and you certainly can’t call it old age. It’s something in between . . . I wanted to describe two women at exactly that moment; a long past behind them, but the expectation of a considerable future in front of them.” The Times describes David Hare as “Britain’s leading contemporary playwright.”
